President & Medical Director

Dr. Nariman Nassiri is the founder and director of Nova Eye Institute, where he leads the practice with a mission to deliver patient-centered, innovative, and compassionate eye care. With a strong background in ophthalmology and subspecialty training in glaucoma, he established Nova Eye Institute to combine advanced medicine with a personalized approach to patient experience.

As director, Dr. Nassiri oversees the institute’s growth, outreach, and community partnerships, ensuring that patients not only receive exceptional clinical care but also feel supported at every step of their journey. His  leadership extends beyond the clinic through active involvement in education, research, and community service programs that expand access to eye care for underserved populations.

Through Nova Eye Institute, Dr. Nassiri is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where cutting-edge medicine, innovation, and compassion come together to improve vision and quality of life for the community.

Executive Vice President

Ashkan Fered is the Executive Vice President of Nova Eye Institute, bringing over a decade of experience in ophthalmology and multi-site healthcare operations. With a career rooted in strategic transformation, Ashkan has consistently driven excellence by aligning clinical precision with operational efficiency.

Before joining Nova Eye Institute, Ashkan held pivotal roles in corporate development, financial planning & analysis, and operational strategy at leading ophthalmology practices across Southern California. His expertise was instrumental in a large organization that had acquired more than 23 ophthalmology practices nationwide, contributing to cross-functional initiatives that supported integration and scalability.
 
Ashkan’s leadership is defined by his ability to streamline complex systems, foster high-performing teams, and elevate both patient and staff experiences. His approach bridges clinical and administrative domains, creating unified workflows that enhance care delivery while optimizing financial performance. At Nova Eye Institute, he plays a key role in expanding the organization’s footprint across diverse medical specialties—driving innovation in patient experience, projection modeling, and long-term value creation.
 
Beyond healthcare, Ashkan is also a trained and professional commercial pilot, bringing precision, discipline, and a unique perspective to everything he does.

Sasson Sarooei leads strategic marketing initiatives for Nova Eye Institute, helping guide its message of hope, innovation, and compassionate care to the communities it serves. With years of experience helping healthcare organizations grow and scale, Sasson understands how to translate complex medical services into meaningful, human-centered communication.

He specializes in building smart, scalable marketing strategies, leveraging digital advertising, data analytics, and emerging AI tools to reach the right audiences with clarity and purpose. Whether refining brand identity or optimizing patient outreach, his focus is always on creating meaningful connections that help more people access the care they deserve. 

Kourosh Sheibani, MD, MS
Research Director

Dr. Kourosh Sheibani serves as Research Director at Nova Eye Institute, where he leads initiatives aimed at advancing clinical outcomes and driving innovation in ophthalmology. A physician-scientist with a strong background in clinical research methodology, he has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, with interests spanning glaucoma and refractive surgery outcomes, artificial intelligence in early disease detection, and intraocular lens power optimization.

Kourosh Sheibani, MD, M

He has held senior research and editorial positions at leading ophthalmic institutions and has contributed extensively to clinical trials, academic presentations, and mentorship of emerging medical researchers. At Nova Eye Institute, Dr. Sheibani oversees research projects, promotes evidence-based care, and fosters collaboration to improve patient outcomes through research-driven insights.

Traci Havro
Director of Virtual Operations

With over 12 years of experience in ophthalmology, Traci Havro combines extensive clinical and administrative expertise to lead Nova Eye Institute’s virtual operations. As Director, she plays a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency and streamlining patient care through innovative solutions.

Traci oversees the call center, authorizations, and eligibility departments, ensuring that all patient interactions are seamless and that each process is optimized for both the patient and the organization. Her background in medical billing, credentialing, and back-office operations—including surgical scribing and surgery scheduling—gives her a well-rounded perspective to drive success across all aspects of the institute’s operations.

A firm believer in leveraging technology to improve healthcare delivery, Traci is dedicated to supporting Nova’s mission of providing exceptional ophthalmic care through efficient virtual operations and administrative support.
